The influential Belgian has scored two goals and registered an assist across our past four matches in all competitions.
And with City still fighting for the Premier League title as well as UEFA Champions League and FA Cup glory, the boss is adamant the 32-year-old will have a major impact until the season’s end.
Crystal Palace v City | Match preview
A trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday is our next assignment.
“When he [De Bruyne] didn’t play in the past it was because he was injured,” said Guardiola.
“He feels really good. At least in the training sessions.
“If he is fit he’s always ready, everyone is ready. Kevin, Gundo and John are the only players who remain from the day that we arrived.”
Phil Foden has performed remarkably in recent weeks – capping his recent displays with a wonderful solo goal in our 2-0 victory over Newcastle.
The 22-year-old opened the scoring against the Magpies when he weaved through a crowd of bodies before firing past Nick Pope in the visitors’ goal.
This raised his tally four goals and one assist in his previous three matches.
And Guardiola thinks the England international’s recent red-hot showings can provide optimism to the rest of City’s squad.
He added “I know very well how important he [De Bruyne] is. At the same time, there are moments that are a little up and down, the same with what happened with Phil and many players.
“They compete with many players. Part of the season one player can be better and another one can be worse, it’s normal. Adjust for every game, they’re different and I decide to do what is best to win each specific game.
“Selection is always like that and in these seven years, Kevin has been Kevin and some more. Always when he didn’t play it was because he needed a rest or was injured or tired or whatever. That is the reality.”
