After signing for City last Monday, the Englishman was selected for his debut for the Premier League visit of Wolves alongside Abdukodir Khusanov at the heart of our defence.
Goals from Omar Marmoush and Antoine Semenyo secured three vital points for City, taking us within four points of league-leaders Arsenal, who are in action on Sunday.
Guéhi had 112 touches of the ball, boasted an impressive 93% pass accuracy rate, and made a number of key interceptions and blocks to propel us to our first league clean sheet since new year’s day.
When speaking about his debut in his interview with City Studios after the game, Guéhi said:
“It’s good, it’s good, I don’t want to get too ahead of myself. But I’m thankful for the opportunity and thankful to be at the football club. It’s not bad, it’s good.
“It’s just the mentality of the team since I walked in, you can feel that intensity and that willingness to win.
“So it’s not even my block, it’s just an emotion that through me is what the whole team is feeling at the moment.
“it’s important to put those blocks in and get those goals however we can to get the win.
“It’s [Etihad Stadium] fantastic. The fans were great. The atmosphere was fantastic, the stadium is beautiful. So yeah it’s fantastic.”
The defender also spoke about his developing relationships with everyone in the squad and touched on the team’s willingness to continue improving.
