Ilkay Gundogan has expressed his pride and gratitude after making his 300th appearance for City in the 3-0 Premier League victory over Everton.

The midfielder marked his milestone appearance with two stunning goals and an assist in a Player of the Match display at Goodison Park.

The German was City’s first signing of the Pep Guardiola era in 2016 and has been pivotal to the success the Club has enjoyed since.

Now 32, our club captain has won the Premier League and League Cup four times each as well as one FA Cup and two Community Shields.

“Obviously I feel privileged to be part of this amazing club for almost seven years now,” he said.

“I’ve seen a lot, ups and downs, but I wouldn’t want to miss a moment.

“I feel in amazing shape. Obviously, when I’m able to help the team like today, there’s nobody happier than me.”

Our number eight also spoke about his two wonderful goals, his first a clever improvised finish, and the second a direct free-kick curled into the top corner.

Gundogan also provided an insight into the importance of recovery at this crucial point of the season and highlighted the important of past experiences in this season’s title race.
