Erling Haaland revealed it tastes even sweeter to beat Manchester United with 10 men because of the fight, grit and effort produced by everyone in the team.

Phil Foden was dismissed by referee Michael Oliver after 23 minutes for violent conduct against United captain Bruno Fernandes.

Despite the disadvantage, Enzo Maresca’s side showed desire and determination to grind out the 1-0 victory thanks to Haaland’s clinical finish at the back post from Josko Gvardiol’s deflected cross.

The win ensures our winning start to the new campaign continues with four wins from four.

“How I’m feeling is exactly how you think I’m feeling! I’m feeling amazing. Wow!” began Haaland in his interview with the Matchday Live panel at Old Trafford.

“The effort we made today, the amount of duels we won. A bit of a different approach to the game when we got the red card. You have to kind of stick more together and take the chances you get them. We had to adapt.

“I’m so proud in the end that we managed to win and the personality we showed when we got the red card to just keep the ball is amazing.

“Wow, what an atmosphere there [away end], the scenes were amazing, both with the goal and after the game.”
