Erling Haaland has expressed his delight after his goal in the 3-0 victory over West Ham saw him claim the record for the most goals in a single Premier League season.

The striker coolly chipped in his 35th goal of the league season to put up 2-0 up after Nathan Ake headed us ahead shortly after the interval.

Phil Foden‘s deflected strike, our 1000th goal in all competitions since Pep Guardiola was appointed manager, secured the three points to move us back to the top of the Premier League.

Haaland, who overtook the record of 34 goals held by Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole, was proud of his and the manager’s achievements.

“It’s a big moment for me and I don’t know what to say, it’s a bit unreal and I’m really happy.

“I’m really proud and happy. I have to thank my teammates and all the staff for making it possible. It was an amazing feeling.

“It was a nice moment [guard of honour]. It was really nice.

“I’m enjoying it every single game. It’s hard [playing for Guardiola], he demands a lot. I try to do my best and develop.

“It’s a pleasure and I love to play under Pep and I’m really happy to have him as a coach.”

The Norwegian also provided his assessment of the rigid West Ham side and also looked ahead to the final stretch of the season.
