The week began with Pep Guardiola’s side securing passage to the last eight of the FA Cup with a 2-0 win at Peterborough.
Goals from Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish settled a hard-fought encounter, but there was no time for City to rest on our laurels ahead of the visit of Manchester United later in the week.
Before the latest showdown with our cross-city rivals though, Gareth Taylor’s side made the journey down to AFC Wimbledon’s Plough Lane for Saturday’s Women’s Continental Cup final.
After some final words of wisdom from the boss at the team hotel, City earned a 3-1 victory over Chelsea courtesy of an inspired second half comeback.
It brought an end to a ten-match winless run against Emma Hayes’ side and, judging by the celebrations from the bench after each goal, meant a lot to each and every member of the squad!
Taylor’s side had set the bar, and Guardiola’s men would follow suit on a bumper weekend of action, putting on an imperious display to beat Manchester United 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Keep an eye out for Phil Foden‘s passionate celebration following De Bruyne‘s second of the match, as well as the post-match party atmosphere on the terraces.

Tuesday 8 March also signified International Women’s Day, an annual celebration of the achievements of women in a social, economic, cultural and political setting.
The theme of this year’s campaign, ‘Break the Bias’, aims to highlight the importance of challenging perceptions while promoting inclusion and diversity in all spheres of life, and City showed our support by painting that message onto one of our training pitches.
Keep your eyes peeled for footage of our pitch robot emblazoning the wording onto the City Football Academy pitches to help us celebrate an important day in the calendar.
