It's the first half of a special two-part Inside City from our pre-season tour in Tokyo!

Pep Guardiola‘s 25-man squad landed in Japan on Thursday and have been busy preparing for the 2023/24 season to come.

We’ve played our first friendly ahead of the new campaign, beating J1 League champions Yokohama F. Marinos 5-3 at a sold-out Japan National Stadium.

As well as that, we’ve trained in the iconic arena in front of thousands more adoring supporters and been out in to the city to meet the fans.

Kevin De Bruyne‘s recovery from a hamstring injury has continued with intense sessions at our training base in the Japanese capital.

We’ve also sampled some of the delights of the iconic metropolis - experiencing the sights, sounds and food and meeting some of the people that make this one of the best cities in the world.

With so much going on, the second part of our Tokyo special of Inside City will follow later this week after we move on to South Korean capital, Seoul.
