City came away from Stamford Bridge with a statement victory thanks to second half goals from Nico O’Reilly, Marc Guéhi and Jeremy Doku.
With Arsenal losing to Bournemouth the day before, the Blues knew we had an opportunity to cut the gap on the Premier League leaders ahead of Sunday’s meeting at the Etihad Stadium.
After an evenly fought opening 45, City turned the screw after the break to pick up all three points.

O’Reilly broke the deadlock with a close-range header soon after the restart and, just six minutes later, a cleverly worked corner routine allowed Rayan Cherki to find Guéhi unmarked in the area, with the defender firing home across goal into the bottom corner.
And the win was all but confirmed before the 70-minute mark when Doku stole possession off Moises Caicedo on the edge of the Chelsea area and fired past Robert Sanchez.
City’s second half performance in particular was spectacular, with the above video capturing all three goals from close-up angles, as well as the incredible celebrations that took place in the away end at Stamford Bridge.
Inside Matchday doesn’t just focus on the goals though, with plenty of behind-the-scenes clips from the build-up to the action as well as some reflections from Doku’s post-match interview.
