Jeremy Doku says it’s more frustrating that a referee thinks he’s diving than being fouled.

The City winger is in the top ten most fouled players in the Premier League – one of the effects of also being one of the most skilful attackers.

He missed our last Champions League clash with Bodo/Glimt after a strong tackle in the Manchester derby.

But Doku will be in the squad as we chase a big win and a place in the Champions League top-eight when we face Galatasaray at the Etihad Stadium at 20:00 (UK) on Wednesday.

Ahead of the game, the Belgian was asked what was worse being fouled or referees not giving free-kicks, and he replied that he always plays fairly.

“Fouls are fine if I don’t get injured because I see it as a compliment that they can’t take the ball,” Doku said.

“For me, it’s diving. When I don’t get a foul, it’s not that I’m diving. That’s sometimes frustrating.

“When I fall on the ground it’s because something happened. I know that I don’t dive. That’s frustrating for me.”
