John Stones believes his impressive partnership with Ruben Dias is going from strength to strength.

Stones has been one of City’s stand-out performers this season, delivering a series of accomplished displays at the heart of our defence.

And his ever-improving relationship with summer signing Dias has been key to our fine defensive record

City have shipped just 12 goals in 14 Premier League games this term and qualified from Champions League Group C having conceded just once in six matches.

Stones says he is delighted to be back playing such a pivotal role in the side - and hailed the impact of Dias since his arrival from Benfica.

“Yeah, I absolutely love playing with him,” he said.

“We’ve still got room to improve. Everyone has got different qualities which is great.

“The consistency is key and us keeping clean sheets has been massive.

“I’ve said it numerous times now but to keep those clean sheets and have that platform for the lads to go and win the game is massive and it’s our job at the end of the day.

I was thinking the other day that its not all on us – its not all in the defenders to get the clean sheets or that when someone scores its solely on the guys who scores.”
