John Stones hailed Manchester City’s team spirit after our comeback victory over Aston Villa saw us crowned Premier League champions in dramatic fashion.

Pep Guardiola’s side’s hopes of lifting fourth title in five seasons hung in the balance as Villa led 2-0 after 70 minutes, which would have allowed Liverpool to lift the trophy with a win against Wolves.

However, City came roaring back, scoring three times in five minutes to clinch the title and Stones believes the manner of the performance evidenced the incredible character of Guardiola’s men.

“We have won it four times now,” he told mancity.com.

“We have won it with quite a few games to spare, the last day of the season three years ago and quite a few games to spare the third time and today [it went] right to the wire.

“I don’t know what the goal difference was, but I know it was tight.

“It just shows the incredible character of us as a team, how much we want it and how much we fight for each other and for everything involved at this club.”
