Nedum Onuoha says he has to "pinch himself" to see how far City have come.

The City Academy graduate returned to the Etihad Stadium last weekend to guest star on our We’re Not Really Here matchday show, sharing his expert analysis during Sunday’s impressive win over Chelsea.

Previewing tonight’s Carabao Cup Manchester Derby semi-final at Old Trafford, the 34-year-old expressed his delight that the Blue half of the city are now a competitive force, especially on Derby Day!

“To sit here at the Stadium (I’ve been away for eight years) is a privilege - to be part of this movement: Man City.

“For a City fan born in the 80s, you don’t have a lot of memories of beating United before the last ten years! There were a lot of beatings.

“On Derby Day, the City fans would be really excited, while United were like: ‘Yeah, we’ll take our three points!’

“Things are different now. The concept of ‘noisy neighbours’ has vanished. Here we are, winning leagues and trophies!”

Our former defender also spoke of his pride for fellow Academy star and lifelong City fan Phil Foden‘s rise to stardom.

“To watch someone like Phil Foden, who speaks like me and talks about the Club I love and he loves (is great).

“He’s a Manc, playing for one of the best teams in the world. Who knew then that would be City?

“You have to pinch yourself sometimes. It’s incredible!”
