With 10 goals in all competitions so far this campaign, the 23-year-old has settled into life in Manchester incredibly well.
The World Cup winner has his family living with him, including his two brothers Augustin and Rafael who have joined local club Abbey Hey in the North West Counties league.
“I think it’s not just my game, but also my personal life,” said Alvarez when asked how he was enjoying life in England.
“A lot of people at the Club, the coaching staff, helped me since my very first moment here.
“The weather was something a lot of people mentioned about this country and this city.
“But, as I always say, I try to adapt to everything. I miss the warm weather and the sun a bit, but I like it here, too.
“When I have some time off, I try to relax, I like to spend time at home with my family, enjoying these moments, talking to some friends, and having good conversations.”
And on his brothers’ progress with Abbey Hey, Julian said: “Since we arrived, they were playing almost every day on a small pitch located in the building where we stay.

“They made some friends there that mentioned to them they should try to find a club.
“That’s how the contact was made, and they started playing there. It’s great they have a good time and can do something that they love.
“We can all talk and comment on what we all feel and share our experiences. That makes it all much easier for all of us.”
