With Lois Openda’s double putting the German side 2-0 up at the half-time mar, Pep Guardiola called on the Argentine and Jeremy Doku to turn the game around.
Their impact was immediate, with Erling Haaland halving the deficit seconds after the introduction of the substitutes, and City set off after an equaliser.

Phil Foden slotted home our second, effectively sealing our place at the top of Group G, but that proved to not be the end of the scoring.
Foden, who had set up Haaland’s opener, cut back to Alvarez who fired home the winner in the 87th minute, completing yet another comeback win at the Etihad Stadium.
When asked about why Guardiola‘s ranks are so effective at comebacks, the World Cup winner said: “I think it is a mentality thing.
“We are always a positive team that fights right until the end.
“We know that these games are long and that we have got opportunities to win.”
