Kalvin Phillips insisted that Manchester City will keep pushing ourselves as we try and hunt down Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

The midfielder made a second half substitute appearance as we ran out 3-1 winners against Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium.

A sweet volley from John Stones gave us an early lead before a first-half double from Erling Haaland put the game beyond reach for the struggling Foxes.

Match report | City 3-1 Leicester city

Phillips came on for the last 40 minutes to see the game out, and whilst Leicester grabbed back a consolation goal through Kelechi Iheanacho, we held out to take home three crucial points in the Premier League title race.

That makes it ten wins in a row in all competitions for Pep Guardiola‘s side and Phillips insisted standards will not drop as we head into a crucial point in our season.

He said: “We said it from quite early on that we’ve got enough in the dressing room to go on a really good run.

“We try not to take anything for granted, keep pushing ourselves to become better and better every day.

“If we are not pushing ourselves then we have a manager who is definitely going to push us.

We’re in very good form, the lads are buzzing because we’re three points closer to Arsenal and looking forward to the midweek game (against Bayern Munich).”
