Kevin de Bruyne has applauded City's fighting spirit to react twice and earn a 2-2 Premier League draw against Liverpool at Anfield.

Pep Guardiola‘s men went behind twice in the second half, but fought back twice with goals from Phil Foden and De Bruyne to secure a point in Merseyside.

The Belgian international’s strike deflected beyond Alisson with nine minutes remaining in the encounter and the midfielder was left delighted with the reaction to going behind on two separate occasions.

“It was a hard game, I think we played well, especially the first half I think we dominated them,” he said.

“We had enough opportunities to go forward. The reaction after their two goals was good.

“I didn’t play here last year when we won, but I think the way we played here with all their supporters, in the six or seven years I’ve been here, was by far the best one. That’s a good sign for me.

“I cannot fault the performance. We did everything that we needed to do.To come here is a hard test and I think we did really well, the way we played, we should be happy with that.”

De Bruyne also spoke about the feeling of scoring in front of the Kop and the upcoming schedule after the international break.
