In the next instalment of our ‘My first season’ series, Kevin De Bruyne reflects on his maiden campaign as a City player.

To celebrate De Bruyne‘s birthday, we have resurfaced one of of his interviews from this season.

The Belgian maestro was recruited by Manuel Pellegrini from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2015 and instantly showed his class – scoring three goals in his opening five games.

He would then go on to play an influential part in helping us win the Carabao Cup and reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for the first time in our history.

It wouldn’t be an entirely seamless season, however, with the now 31-year-old having to deal with injury set-backs and rise to the challenge of the Premier League.

Ultimately, the silky midfielder would end the term on 22 goals in what was a strong start to life at the Etihad Stadium.

Here, De Bruyne turns back the clock and recalls the highs and lows of the 2015/16 campaign - and how it shaped the world class player he is today.
