Kevin De Bruyne has won the Nissan Goal of the Month award for April.

The Belgian midfield marvel won April’s award for his superb, intuitive free-kick which sparked City’s dramatic comeback and subsequent 5-2 Premier League win over Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium.

With City trailing the Eagles 0-2, our skipper took the game by the scruff of the neck and struck a superbly placed set piece past the Palace wall and in off the post to get Pep Guardiola’s side back into the game.

It was just the latest example of the vision, ingenuity and technique that has been the hallmark of King Kev’s incredible 10 years at the Etihad.

De Bruyne’s effort edged out excellent efforts from his fellow nominees.

They included James McAtee who claimed his first Premier League goal for City in that Palace win, Mateo Kovacic’s sliding effort in our 2-0 win at Everton, Matheus Nunes’ dramatic last-gasp winner against Aston Villa, Jess Park’s match winning strike at Leicester and Rico Lewis’s spectacular FA Cup semi-final opener against Nottingham Forest.

Congratulations to Kevin and many thanks to everyone who voted.
