The German opened the scoring after a slick link-up with Erling Haaland before a special, outside-the-foot effort from De Bruyne doubled our advantage.
De Bruyne turned provider when he set up Phil Foden to score our third before the break, with Jefferson Lerma’s own goal rounding off the scoring late on.
But it was Gundogan who man-of-the-match De Bruyne was full of praise for after what has been an impressive start of the season from the German.
He said of Gundogan: “He’s amazing.
“I think he understands perfectly the rhythm of the game and I think he has got that moment where he turns up in the box and it’s very dangerous.
“He scores a lot of goals and the one-two with Erling (Haaland) started the game off for us.
“I’ve been playing for six years with him and he has been incredible in that period of time.”
