The Belgian midfielder has been absent since picking up an injury in the 2-0 win over Aston Villa last month, but Pep Guardiola confirmed he has recovered well and the playmaker is now back training with the squad.

Guardiola put his side through their paces with a series of passing drills ahead of the trip to Goodison Park, where City will be looking to record a 17th consecutive victory.

The City boss revealed he expects Ilkay Gundogan to miss the game due to the groin injury he suffered against Tottenhm Hotspur last time out, but Ruben Dias is in contention to start and Sergio Aguero will again be amongst the substitutes.
