Relive some of Kevin Keegan’s best moments in the Manchester City dugout as he turns 70.

After leaving his role as England boss, he succeeded Joe Royle in the Maine Road hotseat back in May 2001.

City immediately gained promotion back to the top flight in a memorable Division One campaign, in which we went up as champions, scoring an incredible 108 league goals in the process.

And Keegan’s men proved they were not there to simply make up the numbers in the top flight the following year, finishing in a highly respectable ninth in the Premier League in our final season at Maine Road.

We also took some notable scalps along the way, beating Liverpool at Anfield and earning an historic 3-1 derby win over Manchester United.

It was all change the following season, with the club moving to our current home ahead of the 2003-04 campaign.

Over the next two seasons with Keegan at the helm, City would put four past Manchester United, come from three goals down to beat Tottenham in an incredible FA Cup tie, and become the only side to beat eventual Premier League champions Chelsea.

Known for a swashbuckling brand of entertaining, attacking football, these highlights of Kevin Keegan’s best moments are sure to bring back plenty of happy memories (and goals) in equal measure!

Everyone at Manchester City would like to wish Kevin a very happy 70th birthday!
