The Manchester City Sports Business School is pleased to announce additional details of the returning Next Gen Man City programme in the summer of 2025.

Based in Manchester, the programme is undergoing an exciting transformation in 2025, shifting from one and two-week offerings to a specialised modular format.

This evolution allows students to explore topics in greater depth and breadth across one, two and three-week durations.

Students will delve deeper into key areas of the industry through three distinct modules: Athlete Management and Development, Marketing and Business, and Media and Content Creation.

These modules are designed to help students enhance their knowledge, build their career aspirations, and strengthen university applications in an increasingly competitive industry. 

Each module will offer a unique, immersive experience through specialised content, site visits to the City Football Academy, and activities tailored to its focus area. 

Athlete Management and Development: 

This module closely examines how sports organisations develop athletes’ skills, physical abilities, and mental resilience.

The module includes a visit to the renowned City Football Academy, offering insights into state-of-the-art facilities that enhance performance outcomes. Students will also explore the process of talent acquisition and the pivotal role agents play in the world of sport.

Marketing and Business:

The Marketing and Business module will focus on the economic engine of the sports industry Topics include sponsorship, marketing, finance and investment, fan engagement, event management, merchandise, and entrepreneurship. 

Students will complement their learning with visits to key locations such as the Etihad Stadium, Joie Stadium, National Football Museum, and an Esports facility.

Media and Content Creation: 

In an era defined by storytelling, this module delves into how sports content captivates global audiences. Students will explore the world of sports journalism, matchday reporting, broadcasting, and digital media. 

Hands-on activities will include visiting a broadcasting studio and an exclusive tour of the Etihad Stadium, showcasing the behind-the-scenes process of preparing, performing, and producing world-class content.
