In the early Saturday game, Kevin De Bruyne’s wonder free-kick was the difference as he fired us to three points at the King Power Stadium.
It was richly deserved for City – and De Bruyne himself, of course – who turned on the style throughout the 90 minutes.
His goal was reward for a performance soaked in class from start to finish.
Pep Guardiola had pinpointed the three top-flight games before the winter break as key in a Premier League run of home matches.
And De Bruyne ensured it was one down, two to go in the quest for a fine finish to the first half of the season ahead of the World Cup.
