Rico Lewis has expressed his delight after Abdukodir Khusanov was credited with his first goal for City, after the Englishman's strike deflected in off the Uzbek in the 2-1 FA Cup win over Leyton Orient.

The hosts took the lead after Jamie Donley’s strike from 40 yards hit the crossbar before bouncing into the net off goalkeeper Stefan Ortega Moreno.

However, we levelled shortly after the interval as Lewis powered a shot on target, only to see the ball deflected into the bottom corner unknowingly by Khusanov.

WHEN IS THE FA CUP FIFTH ROUND DRAW?

Kevin De Bruyne came off the bench to flick in the winner to propel us into the fifth round of the FA Cup.

“It’s gone down as Khusanov’s, which I’m happy for to be fair,” declared Lewis after the game in an interview with City TV.

“I’m happy for him. He’s come in and he had a tough start. Like you saw today, he came in and was really good. He controlled the game well and controlled the long balls.

“I’ll take the assist for it, if it goes down as that. Yeah, I’m just happy for him.”

The youngster also spoke about the team’s character to fight back from a goal down, touched on how our new signings will be feeling after experiencing a tough FA Cup assessment and looked ahead to Tuesday’s huge Champions League encounter with Real Madrid.
