City head to Anfield on Sunday looking to arrest a winless run and put pressure on the Premier League leaders.

Pep Guardiola‘s champions in each of the last four seasons sit second with 23 points from 12 games, while our hosts this weekend have claimed 31 points so far.

Having suffered defeats in each of our last three Premier League outings, there’s no better time to turn our form around than against the foremost challengers for our crown this term.

In order to gain the three points on Merseyside, we’ll have to overcome a difficult record at Anfield - where we have won just twice in our last 22 league trips.

However, we have only suffered defeat in one of our last nine encounters with Liverpool and have won five of our last six games against sides starting top of the table.

Ahead of this latest test, we look back at some special memories including Nicolas Anelka’s brilliant brace in 2003, Phil Foden‘s powerful hit in 2021 and decisive defensive interventions from Joleon Lescott and Shay Given.
