Pep Guardiola believes winning the Community Shield would provide a welcome boost as Manchester City’s summer signings look to hit the ground running this season.
Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland, Stefan Ortega Moreno and Kalvin Phillips would all make their debut if selected against Liverpool at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
And, Guardiola says getting off to a positive start will benefit the new recruits as they bid to settle into their new environment.
“Yeah, for us a title to win it is better, better than losing,” he said at his pre-match press conference.
“It is good for City. not just for the players. For all of us.”
