Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have gone toe-to-toe as managers of English football’s two leading sides over the last half a decade.
City’s title race is with Arsenal this season while Liverpool are in sixth and battling for UEFA Champions League qualification.
However, that doesn’t mean we can’t expect another exciting instalment of this dramatic saga to kick off the Big City Weekender, which runs until Tuesday.
When City win this meeting, it’s a big result - either in score line or consequence.
In 2017/18, we thrashed Liverpool 5-0 in the first few weeks of the season on the way to a 100-point haul.
A 2-1 win the following season was decisive in a seismic title tussle between the two sides which was eventually won by City.
A 4-0 success followed at the end of the 2019/20 campaign before draws in 2020/21 and 2021/22.
