On this day in 1987, City hit double figures in an unforgettable home win over Huddersfield Town...

We have rewound the clock back to 37 years to a day the Blues chalked up our greatest ever league victory against the Yorkshire visitors.

It was a day that saw City put ten past Huddersfield in a Division Two (now Championship) match at Maine Road.

Neil McNab opened the scoring with a powerful left-footed drive, before Paul Stewart, David White and Tony Adcock completed the rout with a hat-trick apiece.

Former City man Andy May grabbed the visitors a consolation at 9-0, but it would do nothing to dampen the spirits of the Maine Road crowd, who witnessed a truly memorable performance from Mel Machin’s men.

Only Crystal Palace would score more than our 80 goals across that season’s Division Two campaign as City finished ninth in the table, before gaining promotion back to the top-flight the following season.
