The Portuguese star, now just two games shy of 400 for City, opened the scoring on seven minutes and was at his effervescent best throughout the game as the Blues moved to third in the Premier League table.
But as much as he impressed his manager against Villa, it is his tireless contribution throughout the campaign that Pep reflected on in his post-match press conference.
“I don’t forget Bernardo, what he has done for us this season,” said Guardiola.
“Now we are here he didn’t play as much but I don’t forget in November, December, January, February, March, when we didn’t win one single game and he was there every single time.
