Pep Guardiola says City will continue to battle on several fronts this season.

Though the Blues saw two vital points dropped against Nottingham Forest, the boss knows there is a long way to go and many big games to come.

Asked if it was harder to play teams battling for one thing or another, Pep said: “We play for something as well.

“When I was young, it was just to be champions. Now it’s champions, Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, relegation zone.

“Everyone plays for many things.”

Asked whether he would have to lift his players after the Forest draw, he said his players would lift themselves, adding: “All together as always we have always done.

“Sometimes I speak [after a set-back], sometimes not.

“Today it’s not necessary, tomorrow we’ll see when we are preparing for Newcastle.”
