On this day in 2014, City became the fastest Premier League side to reach 100 goals in a season with a hard fought 4-2 victory over Cardiff City.

Edin Dzeko’s first-half opener raised our tally in all competitions to a century when he met David Silva’s precise cut-back in the 14th minute to beat David Marshall.

However, the hosts at the Etihad Stadium wouldn’t have it all our own way when the Bluebirds equalised through Craig Noone’s well-taken strike.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side continued to defend bravely, but our lead was restored before half-time when Jesus Navas slammed home after industrious work by Dzeko to drive forward.

Further goals from Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero secured a precious three points which meant Jordan Mutch’s late goal was little more than a consolation.

Not only did the win see Manuel Pellegrini’s side move to within one point of league leaders Arsenal, but it also represented Joe Hart’s 100th Premier League win for the Club.
