Pep Guardiola‘s side were two goals down at half-time after a John Stones own goal and a Joachim Andersen header.
Needing a big second half performance, Bernardo Silva pulled one back for the Blues with a deflected strike in the 53rd minute.
Then it was time for the Erling Haaland show, as the Norwegian completed the turnaround with his first City hat-trick. The 22-year-old scored his first of the match and City’s second with a header from Phil Foden‘s cross just past the hour mark.
He then put City in the lead in the 70th minute, tapping into the empty net and sending the Etihad crowd into a state of bedlam.
The goal scoring was completed in the 81st minute when Haaland held off Joel Ward and stroked home to claim his first match ball since arriving at the Club.
