After City closed 2023 with the Club World Cup trophy followed by back-to-back Premier League victories, Pep Guardiola and his squad’s attention turned to our first FA Cup assignment of 2023/24.
Our preparations for the third round tie with Huddersfield Town at the Etihad Stadium began with a rainy training session at the City Football Academy before shooting drills the following day.

The boss then tested our squad’s coordination with an exciting ball challenge which resulted in Jack Grealish doing press ups as a punishment.
We then closed the week with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Darren Moore’s side at home thanks to goals from Phil Foden (two), Julain Alvarez, Ben Jackson (own goal) and Jeremy Doku.
And the good news continued during the contest as De Bruyne made his first appearance following his injury sustained at Burnley in August.
