It’s semi-final week in this season’s Carabao Cup!

Manchester City’s pursuit of the major trophy continues with a last-four first-leg trip to Newcastle on Tuesday 13 January, with kick-off at St James’ Park scheduled for 20:00 (UK).

Pep Guardiola’s side reached this stage of the competition with wins over Huddersfield, Swansea and Brentford, meanwhile, the Magpies beat Bradford, Spurs then Fulham to secure passage into the semi-finals.

The Blues have a rich history in the League Cup, winning the cup on eight occasions with our last triumph in 2020/21 where we beat Spurs at Wembley courtesy of an Aymeric Laporte goal in a 1-0 victory.

Remarkably, a 2-0 win semi-final win over Manchester United en route to that success is our last appearance in a Carabao Cup semi-final ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Newcastle.

An Andreas Pereira own goal and John Stones’ strike booked our place in the final in 2021.
