In São Paulo, Brazil, and Bandung, Indonesia, our partnership has supported two community-led projects in collaboration with NGO partners Fundação Gol de Letra and Rumah Cemara.
Through the project, we’ve seen inspiring progress from 45 trained Young Leaders, who have delivered football-based education to over 2,100 children across their communities.
With in-person training from Manchester City community coaches, Young Leaders have developed skills in leadership, coaching, social impact, and project management, using football as a tool to create positive change.
Alongside leadership training, Midea has donated 65 home appliances to enhance the spaces at the project centres and wider community. In Bandung, Midea Indonesia provided air conditioners, water dispensers and washing machines, making sessions more comfortable. The kitchen appliances also support the community café at Rumah Cemara, where meals are shared with children and Young Leaders.
In São Paulo, Midea Brazil’s donations included washing machines to clean football kits and fans distributed to families during a local community festival.
These efforts form part of a wider shared mission between Midea and Manchester City to use football as a platform to empower healthier lives for city youth, helping young people feel supported and at home wherever they play.
