The latest initiative brought together a passionate group of young people from across Rabat, each committed to using football as a force for positive change within their communities. Over several days of workshops, discussions, and on-pitch activities, participants explored how sport can inspire confidence, build leadership skills, and promote healthier lifestyles among local youth.
In Rabat, Morocco’s vibrant capital, the Young Leader training celebrated the local culture whilst empowering participants with practical leadership tools, coaching techniques, and project planning skills designed to help them become leaders in their communities.
Guided by City in the Community (CITC) coaches and supported by Midea, the sessions emphasized inclusivity, teamwork, and resilience. Participants learned how to create safe and inclusive spaces to play and address local challenges through sport, with the programme concluding with a community festival, where the Young Leaders put their learning into practice with local children, demonstrating the immediate impact of the training.
This was supported by local charity partner, LEAD Morocco, with the aim of supporting students through holistic learning experiences. In total, 139 children benefit from LEAD Morocco’s programs on a long-term basis through full merit-based scholarships, receiving continuous support in both academics and sport.
Thanks to Midea’s generous donations, community spaces in Rabat have received essential products that empower the community, encourage growth and create supportive environments where young people can learn, connect and thrive.
With continued support from Midea, the Young Leaders of Rabat continue to develop essential life skills, marking another exciting step forward in empowering youth through football.
