Guardiola will be without Kevin De Bruyne for the second consecutive game as he continues to self-isolate following a positive COVID-19 test.
Ahead of the visit of Mauricio Pochettino’s men, the Catalan admitted several players are carrying niggles and said he will wait until Wednesday’s final training session before deciding who will feature at the Etihad Stadium.
“Jack is much better,” Guardiola told journalists at his pre-match press conference.
“[There are] some niggles for some players. Tomorrow we have the last training session and we will decide then who will play.
“Unfortunately, Kevin is not available.
“I don’t know [when his isolation period ends]. We will do another PCR test and then hopefully it will be negative and he will be back.”
Guardiola also had a special note of praise for Ilkay Gundogan, who missed City’s 2-0 defeat in Paris in September.
The German was hugely influential last season and has become part of the leadership team at the Etihad.
Guardiola says the 31-year-old has everything he looks for in a player as he hailed his attributes on and off the pitch.
“I could say thousands of arguments,” he added.
“Top class player, huge mentality, controls pressure better than anyone else. He gives us incredible alternatives in many positions. He is so smart.
“I rely on him 100%, not just in UCL games, in most of the games he is an incredible team-mate. That’s why he was selected amongst the captains.
“He has everything as a football player and human being. It is a joy to work with him.”
