Our UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg with Real Madrid is almost here...

City come into tonight’s 20:00 (UK) clash looking to overturn a three-goal deficit from the first leg in Madrid.

It’s a sizeable challenge against the 15-time European champions, but the Blues are no strangers to a remarkable comeback.

One of the most defining came in the 1999 Division Two Play-Off final against Gillingham, when we famously scored twice after 90 minutes to force extra time and, eventually, a penalty shootout victory.

CITY v REAL MADRID: MATCH PREVIEW

We’ve been 2-1 and 2-0 down on the final day of the Premier League season, with title hopes seemingly in tatters back in 2012 and 2022 against Queens Park Rangers and Aston Villa.

We’ve been out for the count before but, time and again, City have defied the odds.

Just last month we staged another rousing recovery at Anfield to turn a chastening defeat into a memorable victory.

The Blues need history to repeat itself this evening, with an uphill task against us to reach the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite competition.

But, as Bernardo said in his pre-match press conference, this City team will fight until the end.
