For the third successive season, Pep Guardiola’s side will lock horns with Carlo Ancelotti’s team in the knockout stages of the Champions League – this time at the quarter-final stage.
We will travel to the Santiago Bernabeu for the fist leg meeting on Tuesday 9 April, before the second instalment is played at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday 17 April.
Ahead of the enthralling last-eight tie, City have faced Los Blancos 10 times on the European stage in our storied history – winning 10, drawing four and losing three.
Our first meeting with the Spanish giants came in 2012’s group stage fixture where we suffered a 3-2 loss away from home.
But City’s latest match with the 14-time European champions is perhaps the most euphoric as a 4-0 home success in the semi-final second leg secured a 5-1 aggregate victory and our place in Istanbul’s final of 2023.
And there have been plenty of twists and turns during our past encounters.
