Roberto Mancini’s side were deserved winners, having dominated throughout against the Potters, who were indebted to goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen for keeping the score line respectable.
However, he could do nothing about Toure’s winner, as the Ivorian reacted quickest to a loose ball to fire into the back of the net from 10-yards to send the City fans behind the goal into ecstasy.
