The boss admits mistakes were made against the Toffees but was thrilled by the way his players never gave in, believing that the game wasn’t over.
“At 1-3 it wasn’t done, then we get it to 3-3. We tried. We made mistakes and didn’t win versus Everton for many reasons, last season it happened a lot of times, we gave away the goals, but his season we’re much better and consistent.
“In that situation we tried to do [our best] but the goals we conceded were so easy for them.”
Asked if the campaign so far had been pleasing, Pep responded that he is happy and that his team are evolving as they progress.
“Absolutely. Even the guys with lots of experience can do mistakes but for Marc, Khusa, Gigio here, Antoine, it is the first time they’re in a title race,” he said.
“The feeling we can’t lose that game and sometimes you need time to live that.
“Still we’re here, this season has been more than good so far. Let’s win the next game and then after see what happens, then see in the future.”
