Our final game before the start of the World Cup didn’t go as planned as we were beaten at the Etihad Stadium for the first time this season.
The Bees took the lead in the 16th minute when Ivan Toney headed home the opener but City were level just before half-time following Phil Foden’s blistering strike into the top corner.
But as City chased what would have been a 16th consecutive win at the Etihad Stadium, Brentford offered plenty of threat on the break.
And the visitors grabbed a winner eight minutes into injury time when Toney added the second when he tapped in Josh Dasilva’s low cross.
