An early first half strike from Raheem Sterling and a Kevin De Bruyne penalty were enough to secure another crucial three points for City against Scott Parker’s side.

Sterling opened the scoring inside five minutes, dispatching De Bruyne‘s superb assist with aplomb before the roles were reversed with Raheem being brought down in the box and KDB firing home the subsequent penalty.

City could have had more with De Bruyne smacking the crossbar with a powerful second half shot and also seeing Fulham ‘keeper Alphonse Areola deny him with a fine save.

However, on what was Pep Guardiola’s 700th match in charge as a manager and 250th as City boss, it was day full of positives with the victory moving City up into fourth place in the Premier League table.
