Pep Guardiola says Gabriel Jesus' "brilliant" contribution may sometimes slip below the radar.

The 23 year-old’s brace in the 4-1 win over Wolves took his season tally to 11 from 27 games in all competitions.

He has now bagged 79 goals in 180 appearances for City (all competitions) as well 47 Premier League goals and 20 assists.

“You cannot imagine how happy we are when Gabriel can score the goals he has scored,” said Pep.

“But it is the things he does for the team that people don’t realise he does.

“That’s why the striker has to score and today he scored two. He helps us with his pressing and he is a joyous guy.

“We know he is not in the statistical highlights, but what he does is amazing.

“Today he scored two goals for the team.

“Strikers live for the goal. But how many assists has he done? He was brilliant, like he has been all season.”
