Ilkay Gundogan spoke passionately about being skipper of City’s Double winners following our FA Cup win today, saying: ‘It’s an absolute joy to be part of this team’.

Gundogan scored both goals in the 2-1 win over Manchester United at Wembley, which helped City add the prestigious cup to our league triumph in 2022/23.

Our captain is proud to be an integral part of the sky blue squad and says his time at the Club has been amazing.

On today’s victory, he said: “I am very proud.

“It’s my seventh year now. I’ve never stayed that long at a football club. So that alone, just looking at the numbers, shows how much I appreciate the club, how much also I feel appreciated from the fans, my teammates, it’s an absolute joy to be part of this team, to work with Pep and his staff.
