Guardiola’s City won the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and FA Cup across 2022/23 and are in the fight for all three elite honours once again in 2023/24.
City moved top of the Premier League this weekend after defeating Luton 5-1 and seeing Liverpool fall to Crystal Palace at Anfield and Arsenal vanquished by Villa at the Emirates.
If City see off the Merseysiders and Gunners in the title race, it would bring up four-in-a-row, which would be a unique accomplishment in the history of English football.
Equally, if we added the Champions League and FA Cup to the trophy cabinet, it would ensure a second straight Treble, another monumental and unequalled accomplishment.
Guardiola insists that we must focus on the here and now – Real Madrid in the quarter-final second leg of the Champions League on Wednesday - because we are still ‘far away’ from achieving anything.
“I will never say don’t feel this. But I have a different opinion,” the boss told journalists at his pre-match press conference.
“We are far away from the hypothetical dreams. When we are in the final of the FA Cup and the final of the Champions League and one or two games left with three, four, five points advantage, then I will start to think about this.

“When I was two points behind Arsenal and Liverpool I said we have to do our job, it is not over. Now we are two in front, it’s not over.
“The computer says you have a chance and don’t have a chance.
“It’s one game at a time - Real Madrid tomorrow - and it is step by step.
“Honestly I started thinking about the Treble last season when we beat Manchester United in the FA Cup.
“But the success for me this season is that still we are there.
“So to still be in the position to win the Treble and being in contention at this stage, hats off, chapeau, incredible.
“We want to extend this one more week, one more week.”
