Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne scored two goals each as Pep Guardiola’s side returned to winning ways in fine style.
Ilkay Gundogan was the other man on target, but City had to work hard for the win against a Southampton side who started brightly.
However, it was the hosts who struck first, as De Bruyne tapped in after Alex McCarthy parried Phil Foden’s strike into his path.
James Ward-Prowse levelled from the penalty spot following Aymeric Laporte’s foul on Jannik Vestergaard, but City went in two goals to the good after a fine Mahrez strike and Gundogan’s close range finish.
The Algerian winger netted another composed effort 10 minutes after the break and whilst Che Adams pulled one back a minute later, De Bruyne combined with Foden to immediately restore our three goal advantage.
As always, our We’re Not Really Here show followed the action, and in amongst all the highlights, you can see how Andy Morrison and Shaun Goater reacted to the victory.
