City doubled the lead just eight minutes later when Erling Haaland scored from the penalty spot after the VAR spotted a handball from Leicester’s Wilfried Ndidi.
Haaland added his 47th of the season and 32nd in the Premier League when he finished off Kevin De Bruyne’s pass in the 25th minute.
The Foxes pulled a goal back through Kelechi Iheanacho late in the second half but City saw out the game to maintain the pressure at the top of the Premier League.
