Savinho ignited City’s comeback after Harvey Barnes sent the Magpies ahead, with the Brazilian equalising in the 39th minute.
An unmarked Omar Marmoush smashed the ball into the roof of the net as he recorded his sixth goal against Newcastle in 13 months to send us ahead.
City were in the driving seat as Marmoush put us in touching distance of progressing to the next round once again.
The Egyptian thumped an unstoppable strike on the edge of the box into the back of the net from 20 yards out, giving Aaron Ramsdale no chance of stopping it.
The victory sees us progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with the introduction of Doku and Savinho to the starting xi proving pivotal.
“[Doku and Savinho] were unbelievable tonight, they made the big difference,” Marmoush said.
“They unlocked the game and they are two amazing, amazing wingers and it’s very nice to share the pitch with them.”
“The performance was amazing, we didn’t have the best start to the game, the passion we showed and how much of a team we were on the pitch made us all happy and it was nice to be on the pitch, of course, and we’re happy to reach the next round.”
“We didn’t start the game the best and after a while we started to get into the flow and exploiting the spaces that were there and we were happy we made it work.”
