Matheus Nunes praised City's tidy performance after securing a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Haaland opened the scoring just inside 45 minutes as he rose the highest to head the ball across the goalkeeper and down towards the bottom corner.

Phil Foden doubled our lead in the second half thanks to Rayan Cherki’s driving run, with Foden sweeping a left-foot shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards out.

Despite a late spell of Palace pressure, Savinho won a penalty, before Haaland who stepped up to convert it to round off a well earnt victory.

Speaking to City Studios in an interview after the game, Nunes mentioned the importance of keeping our momentum going across all competitions.

“We knew it was going to be a difficult game, it’s always very difficult to come here.

“But I think we did a very good job, we controlled the game and I think that’s the most important thing.

“Now we have to look at the next game and prepare.

“We knew it would be very important to make a statement and come here and win because it doesn’t matter if we win against [Real] Madrid and then you come here and you draw and then you are too far behind off Arsenal, so we knew it was very important to win the three points here and that’s what we did.”

Nunes also spoke of his delight to not concede a goal as well as linking up with other players on the right hand side of the pitch.
